What is MAT
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications, in combination with counseling and other therapeutic techniques, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Medications relieve the withdrawal systems and psychological cravings that cause chemical imbalances in the body. Research has shown that when provided at the proper dose, medications used in MAT have no adverse effects on a person’s intelligence, mental capability, or physical functioning.

We prescribe suboxone (or buprenorphine with naloxone) and will talk to your pharmacy to make sure you will be taken care of! We want you to succeed. I can never say that enough. We will start with an online self assessment and then schedule an in person appointment as necessary. And then we follow up with telehealth appointments to make sure we are working toward your goals.
We do random drug screens and will help you count pills from time to time, to help you be mindful of your medications. You will always be able to contact your prescriber (during clinic hours) when needed or at least someone in his/ or her office. This is very important to your success!
